Individual Therapy

Life has a funny way of being wonderful and awful, all at the same time. If yours is weighted a little too heavily towards the awful side of things right now, I can help. I support individuals managing depression, anxiety, suicidality, trauma, insecure attachment, sexuality concerns, and more, helping them connect to joy and balance again. I am a sex-positive, kink-aware therapist.

Relationship Therapy

Relationships can both fulfill us and challenge us more than we even knew was possible. You don’t have to manage them alone. I provide marriage and couples counseling for straight and queer relationships, both monogamous and nonmonogamous, using Emotionally Focused Therapy. I offer pre-marital and discernment counseling and can support partners recovering from infidelity. We’ll work together to help you learn how to better relate to one another and build a more secure connection.

About Therapy with Christopher

I believe growth happens in relationships, whether platonic, romantic, or therapeutic. I’m here to walk beside you as you work toward being the version of yourself you want to be—as an individual and as a partner. I build a warm, supportive relationship with my clients to help them find their way through their hardest moments to a more balanced and peaceful place in their lives and partnerships.

I worked in helping fields for 15 years in various roles, supporting both children and adults, until I eventually decided to pursue my training as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I’ve seen the power of therapy firsthand both as a client and a counselor, and my experience has taught me how much we need secure relationships.

I am a psychodynamic therapist, which means that I pay attention to what is happening both in the front and the back of our minds—what we are consciously doing and how we are acting on our unconscious beliefs. This also means that attachment theory, which focuses on the roots of the way that we connect to each other and how that style of connecting plays out in our adult relationships, is a big influence on my approach to therapy. I integrate polyvagal theory to help clients understand the role their nervous system plays in individual and relationship distress. I practice Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples and poly relationships to help my clients regain and strengthen their connections.

I believe that all people of all identities have inherent worth and deserve to be valued for who they are, including those of us with marginalized identities. Our various identities aren’t the entirety of any of us, but they matter. Whether or not you share one of those marginalized identities, you are welcome here, and I am excited to work with you.
