Individual Therapy

Individual therapy

My approach to individual sessions is eclectic, but my practice is mostly informed by psychodynamic, attachment, and polyvagal theory.

Psychodynamic theory focuses on what is what we are consciously doing and how we are acting on our unconscious beliefs. Attachment theory focuses on the roots of the way that we connect to each and how that style of connecting plays out in our adult relationships. Polyvagal theory focuses on the role our nervous system plays in activating stress responses and teaches us how to soothe those responses.

I can provide practical skills for managing your current distress but will also work with you to identify and address its root causes. I often support individuals managing:

  • depression

  • anxiety

  • suicidality

  • trauma

  • insecure attachment

  • sexuality concerns

  • and more

I take a sex-positive and kink-aware approach to therapy, and I am queer-and-trans-affirming.
